growing  in  christ

Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.  Colossians 2:6-7

Our mission at Lansing First Southern Baptist church is to tell others about the Savior, Jesus Christ, and then the help believers grow to be more like Him.  Scroll down to see  our different discipleship programs by age.

We believe children are gifts from God and we take their care very seriously.  All our volunteers that work with children have been screened and trained, so you can worship peacefully knowing that your children are well cared for.  We offer child care for both services and the life group that meets on Wednesday nights.

If you would like for information about our Nursery or if you would like to volunteer, contact Pam or Mark Heriford at

Ages 4 years to fifth grade meet for KidsJourney in the Fellowship Hall during each worship service.  Our children pick up their name tags at the beginning of the service and begin their worship time with their families.  They are dismissed  to KidsJourney after the praise and worship portion.  They are currently studying the Bible chronologically using the Gospel Project curriculum.  Parents pick up their children after the service in the basement.

If you would like more information about KidsJourney or would like to volunteer, contact Karen Laurence at

Sixth through twelfth grade students meet Sunday evenings from 4:30-6:30 at the church house for Bible study and activities.

If you would like more information about youth and their activities, please contact Kim Gunter at

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.  1 Timothy 4:12

life groups

Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.  Hebrew 10:24-25

We love each other.  We love God and we share our lives together. It's as simple as that.  Life Groups meet weekly to encourage us in our faith and in our daily lives.  We study the Bible and challenge each others to live out what we read.

If you would like information about our different life groups or how to get involved, contact Pastor Nathan at
