What  to  expect

Expect to encounter Jesus in a real and personal way when you worship with us. Our desire is to see each person connect with the Lord in faith, so we do our best to leave out obstacles that would make your worship experience difficult or confusing.

You will find Lansing First Southern to be families and individuals coming together who are genuinely enthusiastic about coming together for worship. We hope you will feel at home with us, too.

What should I wear?

Comfortably!  We care about people growing in faith not with how you dress. You will find us in everything from t-shirts and blue jeans to jackets and ties. If Sunday best is your preferred style, go for it. If you're racing back from the lake to join us for worship, we won't frown at your flip flops and shorts.

What is the music like?

Our music is joyful and honors Jesus Christ, reminding us of the love, forgiveness and new life we find in Him. Our praise team is made up of talented and dedicated musicians who love God and love people.

What happens during a worship service?

Worship services include music, prayer, biblical preaching & teaching, giving of tithes and offerings, and an opportunity to respond to God's leading for salvation, baptism or church membership.

We celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of every other month as a way of highlighting our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus. (For an explanation of the meaning of the Lord's Supper, click here.)

Is childcare available?

Yes!  We have a team of qualified nursery volunteers to care for your littlest ones, infants through 3 years, while you worship. When you walk in the front door, one of our friendly greeters will be ready to help you find your way to our Nursery.

What will my school-aged children be doing?

KidsJourney is our worship experience for children ages 4 through the 5th grade. These children will begin the worship hour with the adults in the sanctuary, then are dismissed for engaging Bible teaching and learning activities.

Will I be singled out?

Our members are friendly, so you can expect to be greeted warmly, but we won't call you out in front of the group. We do hope that you fill out one of our Connect Cards to let us know who you are and how we can help you along in your journey toward knowing Christ.

If we missed a question that is important to you, please give us a call or send an email and we'll do our best to answer your questions before you arrive.
